    The Central Market of Alicante is a building with elements of modernist inspiration. It was built under the direction of J. Vidal Ramos between 1911 and 1912, on the wall of the S. XVIII that surrounded Alicante. It has a rectangular plan that follows a basilical scheme, with a circular appendix in the southwest corner, covered by a hemispherical dome ("la Rotonda"). It consists of two floors, one of them semi-basement due to the slopes of the surrounding streets.
